Why is San Antonio called Military City USA? It’s nicknamed Military City USA for one very good reason – San Antonio trademarked the term. But more importantly, it’s because there are four military installations collectively known as Joint Base San Antonio. That means San Antonio has one of the highest concentrations of military families in the country.

SeaWorld San Antonio is located in the “green zone”, an area of the city not far from Lackland Air Force Base where many of the military families live. The DoSeum museum for kids is an iconic San Antonio attraction. There are tens of thousands of square feet both indoors and outdoors full of interesting exhibits and hands-on activities. The museum may be designed for kids 10 and under, but the entire family can spend a whole day exploring and interactive learning. There are even adult nights for military families with older kids.

Some exhibits, like Big Outdoors, remain the same year round, but there are also special exhibits that are only open for a short time. So get down to the DoSeum before they disappear. And don’t forget to ask about the military discount when you get tickets.
